Not to be confused with Bill Memorial Library in the historic Groton area, Groton Public Library is a great place to bring your family. It's especially nice for stay-at-home caregivers to bring their young children. The toys and puzzles in the play area can occupy your little one for at least a half hour and the story-times are always enjoyable.

Storytime:
There are drop-in and registration required storytimes. We've been to both the "Toddler Time" and "Preschool Stories" drop-ins and below are some items to mention.
- Storytime is held in a room at the back of the children's area.
- It's not just about the books, there's music and dancing involved.
- There's always a great craft at the end. The library obviously has money because it's not just a printed out coloring page. This month they've already made a picture of a zoo using animal crackers, a paper bag animal puppet, and a 3D paper tree. I have to give them credit for putting a lot of thought into the craft itself. And although the parent typically does most of the work, the kids love every minute of it. RAGTAG Annie actually plays with her masterpiece when she gets home!
- After craft-time, the librarian takes out toys for all the kids. A great way to get your kids to socialize with others and observe their amazing (or appalling) sharing skills!
- Siblings are allowed.
Conveniences:
- The 1 room bathroom located in children's area has both a changing table (the counter) and a child-size potty.
- There are plenty of toys and activities for children. Tables of crayons and pages to color, a train table, puzzles, those wire-maze things, and a few of the computers in the children's area have extra large colorful keyboards as well as touch screens.
